Partnership And Affiliate Messages
Count partner and affiliate invites, thank the members who post them, and customize the messages Tiko sends in return.
Last updated:
What it does
When a member posts a Discord invite link in a partnership channel, Tiko counts it as a partnership and replies with your partnership message. You can limit counting to chosen Partner Managers, customize the reply, and see each member's total and rank.
It's on by default and starts counting once you pick at least one partnership channel.
Affiliates notify the whole server by default
Affiliates work like partnerships, but the default reply pings @everyone. Use affiliate channels where you want that notification, or remove the mention from the message. Read the affiliate setup steps.
Permissions
| What you're doing | What you need |
|---|---|
| Open the panel and change channels or Partner Managers | Manage Server |
| Press Customize to edit the message | Manage Server, Manage Roles, and Manage Channels |
| Turn partnerships on or off | Manage Server |
Tiko needs these permissions in each partnership channel:
- View Channel and Send Messages, or Send Messages in Threads for forum posts and threads.
- Read Message History, so the reply points at the ad. Without it, the reply is sent without the link, and the panel lists that channel under I can't reply in.
- Embed Links for the embed. Without it, only the message line is sent.
Opening the panel
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Prefix command | .partnerconfig or .partnershipconfig |
| Slash command | /partnerconfig |
| Setup dashboard | /setup → Fine-tune → More Utilities → Partnership Message → Setup |
Only the person who opened the panel can use it. It closes after 24 hours; run the command again to reopen it. Press Done to close it yourself.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| On | Partnerships are running. |
| Off · Turned off in Fine-tune | The switch is off. Your settings are kept. |
| Off · Pick where partners post their invites | No channel is set yet. |
| Paused · The Partner Manager role was deleted | Partnerships are paused until you pick a new role or clear the picker. |
Set up partnerships
- Run
/partnerconfig. - Under Channels, pick where partners post. Text, announcement, and forum channels all work. Posts and threads inside a picked channel count too.
- If I can't reply in appears, fix the permissions it names.
- Under Partner Managers, leave it on Anyone can post, or pick roles. Changes save as soon as you pick them.
Ask a partner to post an invite in one of your channels to test it.
Partner Managers
- Anyone can post: every member who can post in a partnership channel counts.
- Roles picked: only members with one of those roles count.
- Deleting the only Partner Manager role pauses partnerships until you pick a new one or clear the picker.
Partnership and affiliate channels
A channel can be a partnership channel or an affiliate channel, not both. The panel refuses a channel that affiliates already use and names it. The Affiliates button switches the same panel to affiliate setup.
Turn partnerships on or off
Open /setup → Fine-tune → More Utilities → Partnership Message, then press Disable or Enable.
Turning it off keeps your channels, roles, message, and scores. Posts made while it's off don't get a reply later. /enable features and /disable features don't include this switch.
What counts
A message counts when:
- A member posted it. Bots and webhooks don't count.
- It's in a partnership channel, or in a thread or forum post inside one.
- It has a Discord invite link:
discord.gg/...ordiscord.com/invite/.... - If Partner Managers are set, the poster has one of those roles.
Your own server's invites don't count, including your vanity link. Each message counts once. Editing or deleting it later doesn't change the count, and reposting the same ad counts as a new partnership.
The partnership message
By default, Tiko replies to the ad with:
- The line Thank you @poster!, which pings the poster.
- A small embed with the heading new partnership, the poster's total posted and rank, your server's icon, and a footer naming the partner.
You don't need to save anything to use the default.
Customize
- In the panel, press Customize on the Message row.
- Tiko posts a public preview with the Partnership Message Editor controls. The preview uses a sample partner, and your own score and rank.
- Press ✎ Partnership Message to set the line above the embed. Type
<@user>to ping the poster. - Use Content, Color, Thumbnail, Image, Author, and Fields for the embed. Images can be uploaded or pasted as links.
- Press Save & Close. Nothing saves until then.
Reset Draft puts the default back in the draft. Saving a draft that matches the default keeps the built-in default. The editor closes after 2 hours, so press Save & Close before then.
Example
Message: ty <@user> ♡
Content → Description:
:Butterfly: ⠀ty for partnering !
⠀⠀♡ ⠀rank **#{rank}**
⠀⠀:Pencil: ⠀**{total_partnership_posted}** partners| Setting | Example |
|---|---|
| Footer | partnership with {partner_server} |
| Footer icon URL | {partner_icon} |
| Color | F4B6C2 |
| Thumbnail and Image | Uploaded images |
The blank indents use the braille blank character (⠀). Copy them as they appear, since Discord trims normal leading spaces.
Variables
| Variable | Becomes |
|---|---|
<@user> | A mention of the poster. |
{username} / {nickname} | The poster's username / server name. |
{user_avatar} | The poster's avatar. |
{partner_server} | The partner server's name. |
{partner_members} | The partner's approximate member count. |
{partner_invite} | The partner's invite link. |
{partner_icon} | The partner's icon. |
{total_partnership_posted} | The poster's total partnerships in your server. |
{rank} | The poster's rank among members still in your server. |
{server_name} / {server_member_count} / {server_icon} | Your server's name, member count, and icon. |
{channel} | The channel where the ad was posted. |
{timestamp} | The time of the reply. |
Partner details come from the invite, so some may be empty if Discord doesn't provide them.
Mentions
Tiko only pings the poster, and roles you type into the message line. It never pings other users, @everyone, or @here in partnership messages.
Scores and ranks
- A score is the number of partnerships a member has posted in your server.
- Scores are kept when someone leaves and count again when they rejoin.
- Ranks only include members who are still in the server. Ties share a rank: 1, 2, 2, 4.
- Scores can't be reset from the panel.
Affiliate system
Affiliates work like partnerships: a member posts an invite link in an affiliate channel, Tiko counts it and replies. The default reply pings @everyone, so the whole server is notified. Use affiliate channels only where that's what you want.
Partnerships vs. affiliates
| Setting | Partnerships | Affiliates |
|---|---|---|
| Default reply | Pings the poster | Pings @everyone |
| Panel | /partnerconfig | /affiliateconfig |
| Manager roles | Partner Managers | Affiliate Managers |
| Score variables | {total_partnership_posted}, {rank} | {total_affiliate_posted}, {affiliate_rank} |
| On/off switch | Fine-tune → Partnership Message | Fine-tune → Affiliate Message |
Scores are counted separately, and a channel can't be both a partnership and an affiliate channel.
Permissions
The partnership permissions apply here too. Tiko also needs Mention Everyone in each affiliate channel. Without it, the reply still posts, but @everyone doesn't ping anyone. The panel doesn't check for this permission.
Open the affiliate panel
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Prefix command | .affiliateconfig or .affconfig |
| Slash command | /affiliateconfig |
| Setup dashboard | /setup → Fine-tune → More Utilities → Affiliate Message → Setup |
Only the person who opened the panel can use it. It closes after 24 hours, and the status line reads On, Off, or Paused, with the word affiliate.
Set up
- Run
/affiliateconfig. - Under Channels, pick where affiliates post. If a channel is already a partnership channel, the panel refuses it. Remove it from the partnership panel first.
- Under Affiliate Managers, leave it on Anyone can post, or pick roles.
Test in a quiet channel first, because the default reply pings everyone.
Turn affiliates on or off
Open /setup → Fine-tune → More Utilities → Affiliate Message, then press Disable or Enable. /enable features and /disable features don't include this switch.
The affiliate message
By default, Tiko replies with:
- The line @everyone ‧₊˚ ✦ new affiliate ✦ ˚₊‧, which pings the whole server.
- A small embed that thanks the poster, with the poster's total posted and rank, your server's icon, and a footer naming the affiliate server.
The embed never pings. The poster is named, not pinged.
To change it, use Customize and follow the same partnership message editing steps. @everyone or @here typed into the message line ping the server. Remove them to stop the ping.
The preview never pings. It shows @everyone as plain text.
Affiliate variables
| Variable | Becomes |
|---|---|
<@user> / {username} / {nickname} / {user_avatar} | The poster's mention, username, server name, and avatar. |
{affiliate_server} | The affiliate server's name. |
{affiliate_members} | The affiliate server's approximate member count. |
{affiliate_invite} | The affiliate server's invite link. |
{affiliate_icon} | The affiliate server's icon. |
{total_affiliate_posted} | The poster's total affiliates in your server. |
{affiliate_rank} | The poster's rank among members still in your server. |
{server_name} / {server_member_count} / {server_icon} | Your server's name, member count, and icon. |
{channel} / {timestamp} | Where the ad was posted, and the reply time. |
Partnership variables such as {rank} and {partner_server} don't work here.
Mentions
The reply can ping:
- The poster, if the line includes
<@user>. - Roles you type into the line as
<@&role_id>. @everyoneand@here, only when you typed them into the line.
Variables can't add an @everyone you didn't type.
Troubleshooting
Partnerships
| If nothing happens | Check |
|---|---|
| No reply at all | Check that the panel shows On, the switch is on in Fine-tune, and the channel is picked. |
| No reply, but the panel shows On | Tiko needs View Channel and Send Messages there. Check that the channel isn't under I can't reply in. |
| The reply has no link to the ad | Tiko is missing Read Message History. |
| The reply has no embed | Tiko is missing Embed Links. |
| The poster isn't counted | If Partner Managers are set, the poster needs one of those roles. Bots and webhooks never count. |
| Status says Paused | The Partner Manager role was deleted. Pick a new one or clear the picker. |
| An invite wasn't counted | Check whether it points to your own server. Test with an invite to another server. |
| The same ad counted twice | Each new message counts. A repost is a new partnership. |
| Editor controls stopped working | The editor closes after 2 hours and the panel after 24 hours. Run /partnerconfig and press Customize again. |
| Customize says you lack permission | You need Manage Server, Manage Roles, and Manage Channels. |
Affiliates
| If | Check |
|---|---|
| The reply posts but @everyone doesn't ping | Tiko needs Mention Everyone in that channel, and the message line must include @everyone. |
| Nothing is posted | Use the same checks as partnerships: channel picked, switch on, and Tiko can send there. |
| The panel says Paused | The Affiliate Manager role was deleted. Pick a new one or clear the picker. |
| A channel is refused | It's already a partnership channel. Remove it from the partnership panel first. |
