Hospitality
Reward members for talking with newcomers, recognize a weekly leader, and let members spend their points on roles in the Hospitality Market.
/setup → Fine-tune → Hospitality → EnableHow hospitality works
Members earn one hospitality point when they are the first to reply to a newcomer, and another point when a newcomer replies to them.
- Leaderboard points
- Track points earned across daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time boards. Spending does not lower a member's score.
- Balance
- The points available to spend in the Hospitality Market. Buying a role lowers this balance.
Members can run /hospitality to see their balance and weekly rank.
Turn on hospitality
Hospitality starts off. While it is off, Tiko does not award points or update Member of the Week.
- Run
/setupin your server and click Fine-tune. - Find Hospitality (Member of the Week, scoring).
- Click Enable. If the button says Disable, it is already on.
The server owner or someone with Manage Server can use this panel. To manage market roles and categories, you need Administrator, or Manage Server and Manage Roles together. Tiko needs Manage Roles and a role above every market and Member of the Week role in Server Settings → Roles. Integration-managed roles, including Server Booster, cannot be market roles.
Set Member of the Week
This optional role goes to the member with the most hospitality points in the current week.
- Create a role such as
Member of the Weekin Server Settings → Roles, below Tiko's highest role. Let Tiko manage who holds it. - Run
/setup→ Fine-tune → Hospitality → Setup. The private Hospitality panel opens. - Under Member of the Week role, select the role. Tiko saves it immediately. Use Clear there to stop future updates.
You can also use /hospconfig role to choose the role.
How the weekly role changes
The week runs from Monday 00:00 UTC through Sunday 23:59 UTC. Tiko checks the weekly leaderboard about every five minutes and moves the role when first place changes. At the Monday reset, it removes the role until someone earns points. If the leader has left the server, it keeps the current holder for that check.
Clearing the setting stops future updates but does not remove the role from its current holder. Changing to a different role also leaves the old one in place until first place changes. Remove or swap those roles yourself if you want the change immediately.
The panel does not warn about role order. If Tiko lacks Manage Roles or the role sits above Tiko, the choice saves but nobody receives the role.
Build the Hospitality Market
The market is a role shop. Organize roles into categories, set prices in hospitality points, and let members buy and equip what they like.
- Categories
- Up to 20, with names up to 50 characters. Examples: Colors, Titles, Cosmetics.
- Roles
- Up to 30 per category. Create them in Discord first and keep them below your and Tiko's highest roles.
Open your own market with /hospmarket. You can also use /hospitality → Hospitality Market for a private copy, or the Hospitality setup panel's Hospitality Market button to post one in the current channel. Once a category exists, admins see Equip, Unequip, and Edit in the bottom row; members see Equip and Unequip. Clicking Edit opens role editing directly and replaces the bottom row with Edit Category and Reorder Roles.
Each market belongs to its opener
Even a market posted in a public channel only responds to the person who opened it. Other members must run /hospmarket themselves or open it through /hospitality. Market messages expire after one hour.
Create a category
- In an empty market, click Add Category.
- Enter a category name and submit. Tiko opens the new category in role editing with five placeholders and their Add Role buttons.
An empty market tells members that the server has not configured it yet. Admins see only Add Category. To add more categories, use Edit Category → Add Category. New categories appear at the end of the list.
Add a role
- Use Select a category... or ◀ / ▶ to choose the category. If you are browsing, click Edit to show its slots.
- Click Add Role beside a placeholder. In the Role Setup form, select a server role; you can type to search.
- Enter a whole-number Price in hospitality points of 1 or more, without commas or decimals. Optionally set Role Icon/Emoji; leaving it blank uses 🎭.
- Review Confirm Role Addition and click Save. The role appears with Edit and Remove controls.
Use a standard emoji, an emoji from this server as :emoji_name:, or the full custom format <:emoji_name:123456789>. Unknown emoji fall back to 🎭. Each role can belong to only one category: duplicate listings are rejected, so use the existing role's Edit button to change its listing.
Roles must be below your highest role and Tiko's highest role. Managed roles and @everyone cannot be added. The form accepts 0, but members cannot buy a role priced at 0. Each Add Role button stays bound to its category even if you navigate while the form is open.
The market shows five roles per page. Edit mode fills unused slots with placeholders. When the last role page is full and capacity remains, Next shows one spare page of placeholders before advancing to the next category. At 30 roles, placeholders disappear; saving a form opened before the category became full also fails safely.
Manage the market
Click Edit to enter role editing. Listed roles show Edit and Remove, empty slots show Add Role, and the bottom row contains Edit Category and Reorder Roles.
Edit prices, icons, and order
Click the market's Edit button, then Edit beside a role. The form contains its current price and icon. Submit your changes and click Save on Confirm Role Edit. Reopen /hospmarket to return to shopping controls. A changed price does not affect earlier buyers; if someone is mid-purchase, Tiko stops it and shows the new price.
Edit → Reorder Roles can sort the current category Highest → Lowest, Lowest → Highest, or manually. Manual Sort adds ▲ / ▼ controls and saves each move immediately. Use ◀ / ▶ to move between pages; the bottom row keeps Edit Category and Reorder Roles. Click Reorder Roles → Manual Sort again to return to role editing.
Edit → Edit Category opens the category editor. Use Add Category to create another category (disabled at 20), Edit Name to rename one, or ▲ / ▼ to move it. Renaming and reordering save immediately and return the market to the first category, which is also what members see when they open it.
The category editor shows four categories per page. Use ◀ / ▶ to browse; adding a category takes the editor to the page containing it.
Remove a role or category
In edit mode, click the red Remove beside a role. The Confirmation panel shows how many members bought it and asks whether to refund buyers and whether to take the Discord role away. Click Confirm to apply or Disregard to cancel. Refunded buyers receive a DM. Both choices default to Yes if skipped. Choosing not to refund keeps the spent points; choosing not to remove the Discord role lets buyers keep it. Either way, they lose ownership in the market and cannot equip it again. The result lists refunds, removals, and any failures to check manually.
Use Edit → Edit Category, then the red Remove beside a category. Read the warning and choose Confirm Delete Category or Cancel. Deleting removes the whole category and every role in it from the market. Tiko removes those Discord roles from buyers, refunds them, and sends DMs. This cannot be undone, and there is no option to skip the refunds or role removal.
What members do
Tell members to run /hospmarket or open Hospitality Market from /hospitality. They can browse categories, preview a role with Trial, and see the price and remaining balance before confirming a purchase.
Buy opens a Confirm Purchase screen showing the price, current balance, and balance after buying. Members cannot pay twice or end up with a negative balance. A purchased role equips automatically, and its button changes to Unequip (or Equip if it is not currently on them). The bottom Equip and Unequip buttons manage several owned roles at once. Unequipping does not refund a purchase, and they can equip it again. If a role is deleted from Discord, Tiko removes it from the market and refunds buyers within about two hours, or immediately when someone tries to buy it. If a role is deleted during a purchase, the member is refunded automatically.
Something not working?
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Members do not earn points | Hospitality is off, or they are chatting only with existing members. Enable it in Fine-tune; points come from interactions with newcomers. |
| Nobody gets Member of the Week | Enable Hospitality, give Tiko Manage Roles, place the role below Tiko's highest role, and wait up to five minutes. Someone must have scored this week. |
| Cannot assign a market role | Move Tiko's role above the market role in Server Settings → Roles. Buyers can then click Equip. |
| Role Purchased, Equip Pending | The purchase succeeded, but Tiko could not assign the role. Fix permissions or role order, then have the buyer click Equip; they are not charged again. |
| You cannot add a role | The role is at or above your highest role. Ask someone with a higher role or move the market role lower. |
| This menu isn't for you! | The member clicked someone else's market. Have them open their own with /hospmarket. |
| This market role has an invalid price | The price is 0. Click the market’s Edit button, then Edit beside the role, and set it to at least 1. |
| Add / Edit / Remove is missing | You need Administrator, or both Manage Server and Manage Roles. Reopen /hospmarket after permissions change. Click Edit to see Add Role on placeholders and Remove beside listed roles. |
| The market stopped responding | It expires after one hour. Run /hospmarket again. Reopen /setup if the Hospitality setup panel expired. |
